Growing Up With ADHD

My life has been hard, it has had many struggles. We'll get into that later on. One of them was ADHD. I got diagnosed when I was in the first grade. Signs started showing way before that. I was in daycare, jumping over pews while everyone was rehearsing for the play. Needless to say I wasn't welcome back at that daycare anymore. Then I went to another daycare everything was fine, or so I was told. Then kindergarten and first grade came. In kindergarten I was not taking naps, I kept forgetting how to tie my shoes. I couldn't pay attention at all. Then first grade came, I kept getting in trouble. We had this card system; green for good, yellow for okay, and red for bad. I was always on yellow and red. One day they said we had to learn how to read, so I thought this is going to be fun. I had a low score all the time which was discouraging. Then one day my mom took me to the doctor to get tested for ADHD and they put me on medicine. After that everything changed, I was on green and yellow cards sometimes red. My reading score went up. I made some friends. To this day I still struggle, but what person doesn't? I am off my medicine, I've learned to control it. It's hard some days but most days I'm okay. I still fidget around and everything. I know most people nowadays have ADHD but this is my story with growing up with ADHD.

Introduction

I have been lost for some time now. I mean figuratively lost. I haven't been able to write anything. Today that's going to change. I am going to write about my life. Past, present, and future. So grab some snacks and read on. This is Carly's Life.
